Job Description
A busy, well established seafood restaurant in the Cape Peninsula is looking for an experienced Kitchen Manager to take charge of the kitchen. This is a high volume, seafood focused operation where consistency and standards matter every single service.
In this role you will take full responsibility for the day to day running of the kitchen, from stock and staff to plating and hygiene standards. This is a hands on leadership role suited to someone who knows seafood inside out and can run a tight, efficient kitchen under pressure.
Requirements
* Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily kitchen operations and service flow.
- Manage and mentor kitchen staff across all sections.
- Handle stock control, ordering and supplier relationships.
- Maintain food safety and hygiene compliance at all times.
- Control food costs and minimise wastage.
- Ensure consistent plating and quality standards.
- Manage staff scheduling and rostering.
- Work closely with management on menu execution and costing.
* What We're Looking For:
- Minimum 8 years experience in a professional kitchen, with management experience.
- Strong, essential experience working with seafood.
- Proven ability to run a kitchen independently under pressure.
- Solid understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Strong leadership and staff management skills.
- Must be based in or able to work across the Cape Peninsula.
- Well organised, calm under pressure, and hands on.
