Job Description
An upmarket restaurant is looking for a skilled and driven Sous Chef to join their kitchen team and work closely alongside the Head Chef in delivering a consistently high standard of food and service.
In this role you will assist in running daily kitchen operations, oversee sections during service. You will play a hands-on role in maintaining quality from prep through to plating, while helping to develop and mentor junior kitchen staff.
Requirements
- Supporting the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen management and daily operations
- Running and overseeing sections during service to ensure food quality and consistency
Training, guiding, and motivating junior and commis chefs.
- Maintaining prep standards and ensuring mise en place is completed to a high level
-Assisting with stock management and minimising waste.
- Upholding food safety, hygiene, and health regulations at all times.
- Proven ability to lead and manage a section or team during service.
- Strong understanding of a la carte cooking and kitchen operations.
- A solid grasp of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Someone who works well under pressure and takes pride in their output.
- Good communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with a team.
- A culinary qualification is advantageous but relevant experience will be considered
