Job Description
A prestigious wine estate and boutique hotel in the Stellenbosch Winelands is seeking an experienced Food & Beverage Manager to take full ownership of all F&B operations across the property.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll be responsible for running the day-to-day service across multiple outlets, including restaurants, a tasting room, lounge, and in-room dining. You'll lead and develop the front-of-house team, work closely with the Executive Chef on menu planning, and drive revenue while keeping costs in check.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all food and beverage service across the hotel's restaurants, lounge, tasting room, and in-room dining.
- Lead, train, and motivate the F&B service team to deliver consistently high standards.
- Manage guest relations across all outlets and handle complaints swiftly and professionally.
- Prepare annual F&B operating and CAPEX budgets and monitor financial performance against targets.
- Control stock, equipment, and consumable inventories.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu development and F&B concepts.
- Plan staffing levels across outlets to match service demands.
- Run daily and monthly team briefings to keep communication flowing.
- Introduce new ideas and service concepts to keep the offering fresh and competitive.
- Report regularly to the General Manager on departmental performance.
What We're Looking For:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior F&B management role within a hotel or fine dining environment.
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop a service team.
- Strong financial skills, including budgeting, costing, and P&L management.
- Proficiency in POS systems, Protel, and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent guest-facing communication and a genuine service-first mindset.
- Ability to work under pressure during peak periods while maintaining composure and attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
- Professional presentation appropriate for an upmarket hospitality environment.
Salary is market-related and negotiable based on experience.
